And yeah.. I can only assume it's the internet. I've had people whom I get told by their RL friends, that they are the NICEST PERSON EVER OMG... turn out not to be. Anonymity turns everyone mean it seems. I know I've even been guilty of it sometimes :/
I think maybe a part of it too is the fact that I do tend to put people up on pedestals and fangirl at them... I dunno, I just don't feel that I measure up to most of the people I want to be friends with/be like.
